The Mardi Gras that didn't happen

For a week we had been planning our Mardi Gras trip to New Orleans.  To make a long story short, Logan puked all night in the hotel room.  The next morning I could tell he still felt bad even though the puking had seemed to stop.  He was "hungry" and wanted to go down to Nola with our friends for the parades so badly.  He ate a little cereal.  We took off for Nola.  A mile down the interstate, he puked curdled milk all over the back seat of the Pilot.  Trip over.

We pulled off the interstate and our caravan of friends stopped too.  We gave them directions, Calyn jumped in the car with the Michaels, and Aaron, Logan and I headed back to Pineville.

We got home and watched Star Wars and relaxed until Calyn came home late that night.  She went to the parades in New Orleans and a trampoline park in Lafayette.

When we left Baton Rouge and headed home, I had slight anxiety with all three of my kids in different parts of the state.  Harper was in Leesville, Calyn in New Orleans, and Logan home with us.  By that evening though, this momma hen had all her little chicks at home snug in their beds.

Maybe we will try again next year...

So excited to go...
