Monster Jam 2015

This past Saturday we took the kids to Monster Jam at the Superdome. I love taking our kids to special events like this. It was a crazy day to go because we had to be at church that morning for Braylen Burch's baptism and had to be back Sunday morning for another friend's baby blessing. Plus it was the THIRD time this month we were in New Orleans! So, we made the drive to NOLA and home again in one day.

But, it was worth it.  We had a fantastic time.  Of course it had its usual family-trip nuttiness (trying to find somewhere nearby to eat that EVERYONE would be happy with), but overall it was a good memory.  We ended up finding a pizza joint called Big Pie Pizza.  It was the only place near the Superdome that didn't have a two-hour wait.  It was on a secluded side street so we hit the jackpot on wait time with three kids in tow.  Logan was a bit on edge because he was hungry and didn't want to wait, but a game of "20 questions" kept everyone entertained until food arrived.  The caesar salad was tangy-delicious and the pizza had a thin, but crusty bottom.  So good.

After dinner we headed to the Superdome.

Besides the wait at the concession stand, it was fun.  Even Harper enjoyed herself, for most of it;)  We got home around 2 am and were zombies for the rest of the weekend.

The next day in primary, Kate Jones (the chorister), asked the kids to close their eyes and think of the most beautiful thing ever.  She got answers like, mountains, the beach, etc.  Logan said, "Monster Jam!" and Calyn said, "Yeah, that was AWESOME!"  Everyone got a huge laugh out of that:)
