A Surprise for Aaron

Since last October I've known TJ and Crystal were coming...but Aaron didn't:) Yes, we all kept it a secret for months. I picked them up from the airport Friday afternoon, stuffed them in my trunk (yes, my trunk), and then told Aaron to get my bag out of the trunk when I picked him up from school. Needless to say, he was surprised. Just a little background on who TJ and Crystal are: TJ and Aaron were mission companions in Mexico. They got married the month before us, and we flew to Florida for their wedding. The following month, they came to Louisiana for our wedding. We all lived in Utah together for the first year of marriage (Crystal and I cooked our first Thanksgiving meal together:). We've seen each other every couple years since then, and we were SO EXCITED to see them again! Here's our weekend through pictures:

First stop: Taqueria Sanchez for some authentic Mexican food to re-live the "mission" days.

Hiking at Jean Lafitte wildlife preserve

Saturday night in the French Quarter

Calyn wanted to be the gunner at the D-Day museum

Don't they look like such good friends?

A morning in the French Quarter

I think we've lost at least three socks over the course of our adventures.

Food Network and Gourmet magazine said Willie Mae's Scotch House had the best fried chicken in the US. So, we went and checked it out. And...they were right. The fried chicken was awesome. The service was a little slow and the red beans and rice weren't that great, but the chicken made up for it. F.Y.I. don't go there with your little kids...no high chairs. Ugh.

Chillin' like a Villain at Audubon Zoo

The zoo decided to capture Crystal...she's WILD!

A little bit too much excitement for Calyn

Ice cream at Angelo Brocato's...Calyn kept taking TJ's hat.

We LOVED having you two come visit. We'll miss you, and we'll see you in Jacksonville!

Good frinds, good times, and sweet memories--what more can we ask? So glad you got time for a reunion! Don't ever think of locking me in the trunk though, makes my skin crawl just thinking of it! Great pictures! You'r going to have to show me how again this weekend! Love you, Paula
